Proximity
We can apply other Gestalt laws of grouping that affect our visual perception.
Here, objects near each other tend to be seen as a unit.
The law of proximity states that objects (in this case, our group of insect parts) near each other tend to be seen as a unit.
According to this theory, you will probably see the
arrangement above either as a set of horizontal rows
or vertical columns depending on the spacing
applied.
