Cangzhou Power Plant – Project Manager for the
Owners Engineer Report. Ebasco Services Incorporated was retained by Entergy
Power Group to provide an engineering review of the cogeneration addition to
the Cangzhou Power Plant located in Cangzhou City, Hebei Province,
China. The cogeneration facility addition would consist of three pulverized
coal (PC) fired boilers generating steam through two 12 MW nominal (15 MW
maximum) backpressure steam turbine generators to 13 factories at various
locations in the city.
Sweeny
Cogeneration Project – Project
Manager for a 250 MW cogeneration project conceptual design for Enserch
Development Corporation and Houston Industries Energy, Inc. at the Philips
Petroleum Plant in Sweeny, TX. The power sales agreement would be with
Houston Lighting and Power. The work included preparing conceptual designs
for various cogeneration configurations and associated capital cost estimates.
Prepared and made the project technical presentation to Philips Petroleum.
US
Gypsum –
Manager of Engineering for a 60 MW cogeneration project conceptual design for
Enserch Development Corporation at the US Gypsum facility in Jacksonville,
Florida. The power sales agreement would be with Jacksonville Electric
Authority. The project would supply CTG exhaust gas to US Gypsum for
drying gypsum board. The work included preparing conceptual designs for
various cogeneration configurations and associated capital cost estimates.
BPC
Generating Station –
Project Engineer for the conceptual design of an 80 MW coal-fired circulating
fluidized bed power plant. The work included preparing conceptual
designs, heat balances and capital cost estimates.
St.
Marys Cogeneration Project –
Project Engineer for a 65 MW combined cycle cogeneration and waste wood fired
plant located at the St. Marys Paper Company mill in
Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, Canada. The project includes a 50 MW CTG and a
10 MW back pressure STG. Responsible for the engineering coordination with the
paper mill engineering staff, interconnecting electric utility engineering
staff and the Ontario Ministry of the Environment.
International
Falls Cogeneration Project –
Project Engineer for the feasibility study for a gas fired boiler and 45 MW
condensing steam turbine-generator expansion to the Boise Cascade paper mill
located in International Falls, Minnesota. Responsible for preparation of
the project conceptual design and capital cost estimate. Provided
engineering coordination with the interconnecting electric utility engineering
staff and the paper mill engineering staff.
Fort
Frances Cogeneration Project –
Project Owner's representative for the 90 MW cogeneration project located at
the Boise Cascade paper mill in Fort Frances, Ontario, Canada. The
project includes a 45 MW Westinghouse B-12 prototype CTG and a 45 MW condensing
STG. Assisted in the development of financial models (pro-forma).
Attended project meetings and provided the Owner with technical advice during
the conceptual plant design and major equipment selection. Provided
additional engineering staff to the project for the detailed review of the
instrumentation and control design.
Texaco
Cogeneration Project –
Project Manager for the Texaco Anacortes Refinery 40 MW Cogeneration Project
feasibility study for Mission Energy Company. The study included
preliminary selection of the combustion turbine cycle and identification of
interface points with the refinery's gas system and powerhouse steam, feedwater and computer control system.
AGRICO
Cogeneration Project –
Project engineer for a 26 MW combined cycle cogeneration project.
Supervised the preparation of the project heat balances, layouts, and final
designs.
Arco
Cogeneration Project –
Project engineer for the conceptual design and cost estimate of a 70 MW
cogeneration project. The project would use either a GE Frame 6 or a BBC
Type 8 gas turbine-generators
Union
Carbide Seadrift Cogeneration Project – Lead engineer for the preliminary design of the 100 MW
combined cycle cogeneration project. Responsible for the preparation of
the project system flow diagrams. The project used GE Frame 6 and Frame 7
combustion turbine-generators.
FMC
Cogeneration Study –
Provided the design review of two heat recovery steam generators on the coke
plant stacks. Steam from the HRSG would power a 10 MW steam
turbine-generator.
Oregon
State University Gasifier Study – Technical reviewer for a 10 MW combined cycle power
plant with a wood gasifier as the primary energy source. High temperature
gas from the gasifier provided heat through a ceramic lined heat exchanger to
an unfired combustion turbine-generator unit.
Wind
River Nursery Project –
Lead Mechanical Engineer for the conceptual design of a wood fired gasifier
supply low Btu gas to diesel engine-generators. The study included
evaluation of heat recovery and thermal storage methods for nursery greenhouse
heating.
California Energy Resource Commission -- Lead Mechanical Engineer for a study to recover heat from diesel-generator exhausts to produce low pressure steam and hot water for food processing plants. The study included the preliminary selection of diesel engine-generators and the preparation of energy balances to match the existing facilities electric, steam, and hot water demands.
