saying about the E&T Program?
Beginning in September 2000 with the incoming class of 2004, Lehigh University is offering a state-of-the-art honors degree program leading to the Bachelor of Science in Entrepreneurship and Technology (E&T). The very demanding E&T program is a carefully planned integration of courses in business and engineering with additional requirements in mathematics, science, English and the humanities. In addition, students are required to demonstrate proficiency in a foreign language. Graduates of the E&T program will emerge with a unique set of skills and competencies, prepared to lead the corporate world in the 21st century.
The E&T Program is offered jointly by the P. C. Rossin College of Engineering and Applied Science and the College of Business and Economics. The impetus for the program comes from University President Gregory C. Farrington who has long recognized the need for today's leaders in business and industry to have a sound foundation in both management and technical disciplines.
At the end of four years and a minimum of 137 credits, students will receive a single Bachelor of Science Degree in Entrepreneurship and Technology. Students enrolled in the program and in satisfactory standing are able to transfer to a dual-degree (a BS in Business and Economics and a BS in an engineering field) at any time, and still stay within the honors program cohort. The time necessary to complete this option would typically be five years and would depend upon the curriculum selected and the number of advanced placement credits.
The E&T Program directly addresses the constantly changing realities of the new industrial and professional marketplace: rapid technological innovation; diffusion and obsolescence; emergence of new standards; short product life-cycles and decaying margins due to increased global competition; and outcome-focused development and delivery of new products and services. Organizations now seek new forms of competition based on cooperation, often pooling physical and intellectual resources to speed up the profitable design, development, manufacturing and delivery of products and services. These changes in the marketplace demand new capabilities, which can only come with the combination of the technical with the commercial.
The hallmark of this integrated program will be graduates with a unique set of skills and competencies. In addition to the mastery of the concepts and procedures taught in individual courses in each college, the E&T program develops competencies that require an integrated knowledge from both engineering and business such as:

How do I apply to the E&T Program?
Admission to the Entrepreneuship and Technology Program is highly selective, with annual admission limited to only 50 students. The University's Office of Admissions (610-758-3100) can explain the procedure for applying to the program.
It is possible that a small number of exceptional students may be admitted to the program following the completion of their freshman year. Admission at this point would be highly competitive and based upon freshman year GPA and faculty recommendations.
