The rubric for grading this assignment is as follows:

Poet Page Incomplete page, or incorrect information about poet. Short, undetailed report about poet, student's own opinion omitted. Page contains appropriate material or brief student opinion. May be poorly organized or confusing. Page features complete, thoughtful student opinion and correct information about poet.
Presentation Student does not make sense, or is unable to complete presentation. Student needs to be guided by teacher to complete presentation correctly. Student needs minimal guidance to present clear, articulate information. Student presents concisely, clearly and completely, on his/her own.
Letter to Poet Inappropriate or unrelated material.  Does not follow letter format.  Mostly unrelated material, essential elements of letter format missing. Contains related content, though may be lacking in student opinion.  Presented in a letter format. Content is excellent.  It is related and also includes the students' own feelings. Formatting is completely correct.
Student Poetry Most poems not completed, or all poems completed incorrectly Most poems are completed, or all poems completed but some done incorrectly. All poems completed, some completed with errors. All poems completed correctly, all formats followed.
Teacher Conferences Student does not complete all teacher conferences. Student must be reminded to meet with teacher, or is consistently unprepared. Student is generally prepared for conferences, shows some understanding and can speak knowledgeably about own work and work of partners. Student is prepared for all conferences, shows consistent understanding and knowledge of group and individual assignments.
Classmate Evaluation Rated a 1 by assignment partners with acceptable reasons. Rated a 2 by assignment partners with acceptable reasons. Rated a 3 by assignment partners with acceptable reasons. Rated a 4 by assignment partners with acceptable reasons.
Revision and Editing Student edits own work, does not allow partners to revise or edit and does not revise theirs. Student helps others edit, but does not allow others to edit own work. Does edit own. Student works with others to edit all work.  May not give correct feedback, or does not use other's input to edit own work. Student engaged with editing and revising process.  Gives and receives feedback with partners effectively. Uses some of partners' suggestions in own work.
Poetry Book Assignment incomplete and undecorated Assignment complete, no decoration, or partially complete and no decoration. Assignment complete, some decoration.  Assignment complete and thoroughly decorated.
