http://www.worldcom.com/tools-resources/communications_library/        The MCI Worldcom Communications Library - a pretty good glossary of telecommunications terms and concepts.

http://www.nanpa.com/    The official North American Numbering Plan Administration site, maintained by Neustar.  Here you'll find the latest information on new area codes, overlays and splits.

http://www.lincmad.com/index.html        Another area code site maintained by a private individual.  This one includes interesting related information.

http://www.fcc.gov/        The Federal Communications Commission home page, home to all sorts of important regulatory stuff.   Sometimes it can be hard to find specific information; you need to be persistent and creative with the search engine.

http://www.usdoj.gov/crt/ada/adahom1.htm        The home page for the Americans with Disabilities Act, maintained by the Department of Justice.  Telecommunications-related ADA requirements are spelled out on this site.

http://www.howstuffworks.com/telephone.htm        A nice straightforward guide to how your telephone works.

http://abtolls.com/       An excellent source of long distance and wireless phone rate information, created with the individual consumer in mind.
