The Hotel des Invalides (or what is now the Army Museum). Les Invalides was founded by Louis XIV in 1674 to house wounded (invalid) war veterans. The golden dome looked as pretty to us on a cloudy day as a sunny one. This is where I was thinking "Gee, it would be nice to have my umbrella about now. The one I brought 3,500 miles. The one that's nice and dry in my suitcase back at the hotel."
