Why be a librarian in the 21st century?

The site is known as Slickdeals or "SD." The logo is a blue boxy shape with the words "SD."

 

What page am I on? (Page name)

The page we are on is the homepage.

What are the major sections of this site? (Sections - tabs)

The major sections of the site are the "Deals" frontpage with the major deals laid out in a list by the day the topic was posted. The sidebar lists "Hot Topics" that are of great interest to a large group of users.

What are my options at this level? (Local navigation)

The top navigation bar allows the user to navigate to other parts of the website. Of particular interest are the discussion forums where users communicate and discuss shopping deals.

Where I am? ("You are here" indicators or breadcrumbs)

The color of the tab on the navigation bar indicates the current location. Clicking on the various tabs allows quick navigation. Navigating to one area does not mean the user loses their way and can click on "Deals" to return to the main homepage.

How can I search?

A basic search bar is found at the top right of the page. Typing in the search bar brings up a popup menu that provides additional search options along with a link to advanced searching.

The search functionality supports both basic and advanced options for all sorts of users and skill levels.
