Another successful pool has been completed! Congratulations to all the participants who have contributed their enthusiasm, energy, and $2.00.

Special congratulations to our winner, Professor Albert Wurth of the Political Science Department at Lehigh University. Email congratulations to Al here. He will shortly receive the first place prize money, $69.00, and an authentic, purchased-in-the-arena, Final Four T-shirt, featuring the University of North Carolina logo and colors (in honor of Al's alma mater).

The second place entry, Sports Illustrated, was submitted by Christy Full of Los Angeles, aided by SI's March Madness issue. Her winnings are 25% of the pool, $23.00.

The tightest competition this year was in the "Dead dog" category, where two newly eligible contestants finished one-two. Emma, doyenne of Santa Monica West Highland Terriers, finished fourth overall and was chased to the finish by my own beloved Humphrey of Hellertown (fifth), and Bucks County Emmett (tied for sixth). Legendary Ginger, a Ruthian figure (as well as the original entry) in this growing category finished tied for tenth overall.

Other notable achievers include Pook (aka Beverly Moon) who correctly picked the most upset winners (11 of 24) and Mary Ann Haller, who has extended her streak of finishing last in every pool within memory. Complete final standings are found below.
