Lehigh confers the degrees of Master of Science (M.S.) or Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) on candidates who demonstrate:
• General proficiency and high attainment in a specialized field of knowledge
• The capacity to carry on independent investigation in that field
Proof of these benchmarks is the presentation of an acceptable thesis or dissertation that embodies the results of the candidate’s original research.
