Pictured in the background are brain cells after calorie restriction. Red cells contain the orexigen, GnIH, gonadotropin-inhibiting-hormone. Green cells contain Fos, a marker for activation. Red cells with green/yellow centers are GnIH cells that have been activated by calorie-restricting diets. GnIH treatment increases food hoarding and decreases reproductive behaviors.
